Blade Value is our Dog of the Month for October and he is quite a character! I have been walking him for 5 years now and he was the 3rd client I ever walked when I started. If you had seen us you would have questioned who was walking whom! We have affectionately referred to Blade as “The Beast” for his enthusiasm and energy and he is well known by the folks who walk on their lunch hours in his neighborhood. He has slowed down just a little and prefers to spend most of his energy playing with his new baby brother. -Anna
1. What is your name, age, and where do you live? My registered name is Setanta’s Daywalker but my friends just call me Blade. I will be 10 in December and I share that birthday with the very first Gordon in the family “Radar”. I live in Seven Fields. 2. What is your favorite food? Flapjacks has been a traditional people treat for all of the Gordons here. I also enjoy salmon occasionally. 3. Favorite pastime? Hunting birds with my dad and also now doting over our newest puppy “Crag”. 4. What is your biggest pet peeve? When someone tries picking burrs or combing out matts near my rear end. 5. Favorite time of year? Fall! 6. Best vacation destination? Either a hotel dad takes me to hunt Woodcock up near Lake Erie or a cabin a friend of his owns in the mountains for Ruffed Grouse. Any place we ride to in the Jeep is fun as long as it’s not the vets. 7. Favorite spot to snuggle/nap? It changes. For years I snuggled on the sofa in the man cave with my buddy Parker but once he passed away I moved up to the Victorian settee upstairs and now I just like laying on the floor where I can watch the front door for a friendly face to appear. 8. What is the naughtiest thing you have ever done? It was a chained event. The plastic tray in my kennel/cage cracked so dad built a wooden floor and glued down a yoga mat so I’d be comfortable. I pulled the mat up, ate it and successfully passed it over a couple days. Dad then used indoor/outdoor carpeting with metal trim and nails on the edges to secure it. He then left for an hour and I managed to pull out a nail with my teeth and eat it. That cost dad about $1300 to have it removed from my tummy. He then used screws that had gorilla glue on them and that was the solution.
