Dog of the Month-May 2017

Gus Gruber is our May dog of the month. Gus’s entire family have been clients of APHC for a long time.  I came to know his mom Bridget through her sister Brenda who was a daily client.  Bridget worked for us while she was in college.  Bridget actually got Gus when she was in school, her dorm was animal friendly.  Shortly after graduation she became a daily client.  Gus is very sweet he loves to burrow under blankets and play ball out back over and over again.  Gus is just a little peanut that can be held in your arms.  He likes to be the main man in charge which is so funny considering Gus lives with two Great Danes!  Please enjoy reading about the man, the myth, the legend Gus Gruber!

1.  What is your name, age, and where do you live?

Guster Mojave Gruber, or Gus for short.  8 years old and Economy, PA

2.  What is your favorite food?

I will try anything mom drops on the floor while cooking but I usually spit out spinach.

3.  Favorite pastime?

Fetch with my ball, especially in the water.

4.  What is your biggest pet peeve?

My “little” brother Spencer. He doesn’t do anything to me I just don’t like him.

5.  Favorite time of year?

Anytime I can be outside in the sun!

6.  Best vacation destination?

Visiting Aunt Brenda in Seattle or Uncle Dan in Rochester.

7.  Favorite spot to snuggle/nap?

In mom’s lap, under a pile of blankets.

8.  What is the naughtiest thing you have ever done?

When I was a puppy I stole a plum pit from dad and ran off with it. Thinking I had swallowed it, they took me to vet to get very expensive x-rays but the doctor couldn’t see anything so he told them to check my poop every day to see if it passed.  They never found anything and a couple of weeks later I put the pit on the living room floor. To this day, they don’t know if swallowed the pit or just hid it somewhere in the apartment for a couple of weeks.
